The AsiaLink-EAMARNET International Conference on Ship Design, Production and Operation will take place in Harbin, China, from 17 to 18 January 2007. Situated on the banks of the Songhua River, Harbin city is often referred to as “Oriental Moscow” for its distinctive western-styled architecture. It is also known as the “Ice City” for its long and cold winter. Home to the world famous Harbin Ice Festival, Harbin is a thriving industrial city that is also the political, economic, scientific and cultural centre of Northeast China.

The International Conference aims to promote cooperation among Asian and European maritime universities and industries, and to provide a forum for academics, engineers and government officials to discuss the latest developments in the field of marine technology. It is also a special occasion for the Euro-Asia Maritime Network (EAMARNET), as we celebrate its inauguration.

Themes covered in this conference include:

  • Ship design for safety
  • Ship hydrodynamics, structures, manoeuvring and production
  • Marine operation, management and communication
  • Ship machinery design, operation, control and optimisation
  • Marine environment protection and renewable energy
